Course Profile: Group or Combination course
Workplace communication rarely involves people who all use English at the same level or in exactly the same way. This course reflects that reality.
This is a multi-level course for B1 to C1 participants. With a maximum of five students, your teacher can adapt activities so that everyone can contribute while practising communication with people from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
At work, you cannot choose the English level or communication style of every colleague or client. Learning in a multi-level group helps you listen carefully, adapt what you say and check that you have understood each other.
What to expect in the group classes:
• Practise turn-taking, active listening, professional small talk and checking understanding.
• Take part in discussions, problem-solving activities and short presentations based on realistic workplace situations.
• Explore how communication styles and expectations can vary across cultures.
• Use authentic listening materials to become more comfortable with different accents and ways of speaking.
• Receive individual feedback to help you communicate more clearly, accurately and confidently.
What to expect in the 1-to-1 classes (optional):
- develop specific vocabulary for your area of work and business
- practise using English for writing emails, reports, negotiating, meetings, telephoning and conference calls
- improve your general and social communication skills for dealing with English speaking clients or colleagues
- give specific presentations in English
- work on your specific requests
