Course Profile: Family Experience in Edinburgh
Your children will not learn English in the traditional sit-down classroom setting but will enjoy using and learning English through participating in sports and games with local English speaking kids.
Choose from four different experiences:
Multi-Activity Experience
- Children will try a number of different activities throughout the day. Time will fly by for your child as they try a number of different sports, arts and craft activities, treasure hunts and board games. There will be 8 different games and activities each day with time between to relax, have a snack and chat.
- This is a fun, creative and active camp for 5 to 12 year olds. Some English knowledge recommended but not essential.
Wild Outdoors Experience
- Children will take part in fun and engaging activities outdoors. From archery to orb suits, go-karts to big water fights, team games to relaxing around a fire roasting marshmallows, no two days will be the same.
- This is an active and adventurous camp for 5 to 12 year olds. Some English knowledge recommended but not essential.
Foxlake Aqua Experience
- Children will be taken by minibus to Foxlake floating adventure aquapark outside Edinburgh. They will participate in a variety of activities on the inflatables, low ropes course challenge, Ringos and more. This is a full day of water related fun!
- This is a wet and adventurous camp for 7 to 15 year olds. B1 English knowledge recommended. Must be able to understand safety instructions when participating in water activities.
Please note:
- Children must be able to swim and be confident in the water
- No serious medical conditions
- Wetsuits, buoyancy aid and helmet included
Horse Riding Experience
- In the morning the children will be taken by minibus to Edinburgh & Lasswade Riding Centre on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Riders will learn stable management skills and horse care as well as trekking and riding. This is a full day of horse related activities for young horse lovers.
- This is a fun and practical camp for horse lovers aged 7 - 15 years.
B1 English knowledge recommended. Must be able to understand safety instructions when around horses. Some experience with horses preferred but not essential.

Course Summary
Our wish is for your children to become confident in using English in real life and for them to gain a love for the language through using it for fun from a young age.
If they have fun, they will learn naturally and will want to keep speaking English in the future!
Please note: parents or guardians are responsible for drop off and collection of their children and will have overall responsibility of their children while in Edinburgh.
- The drop off and collection point is 30 minutes walk from ECS Scotland school or a 10-minute taxi ride.
- There is a flexible drop off time between 8am - 9am (we recommend you drop off your between 8am - 8.20am so you have time to arrive at ECS Scotland for your own classes beginning at 9am).
- There is a flexible pick up time between 17.00 - 18.00.
- ECS Scotland acts as an agent between your family and AccessEA. All children's activities are organised and operated by AccessEA.
