Why do we give the bag to our students?
When students take part in one of our small-group English courses, they don’t just learn vocabulary and grammar. They become part of a friendly, international community. We give each student an ECS Scotland bag as a practical gift to carry materials or shopping in. More importantly, it is a reminder of their time learning English in Edinburgh and an inspiration to keep on studying.
The bag has travelled far beyond our classrooms—from city streets to mountain trails. It's been on beaches, bikes and boats and it’s our way of sending a little piece of ECS Scotland with you, wherever life (and your English) takes you.

But this project is more than just travel photos. It’s about keeping in touch.
ECS Scotland's students are fascinating people from all over the world—professionals, artists, teachers, doctors, lawyers, retirees, students and the like—each one on their own English language journey. Many come to ECS Scotland for a short, focused language course in Edinburgh and then go on to use their English for work, travel, study or fun. The bag helps us stay connected with their journey. It’s a small way to say: “You’re still part of our school and family's story.”
