In 1944, Eleanor Dalyell, the present owner's mother, put the care of House of the Binns to the National Trust with the condition that the family was still able to live there. The house and grounds are now open to the public and this, in addition to the family, pays for the upkeep of this wonderful place.

It is lovely house with an interesting family history. We receive a guided tour of the property, approximately one hour, and then walk up to the tower for views of the Forth and bridges. It is possible to take photos in the grounds but not in the house.

House of the Binns is visited by ECS Scotland students as part of our Wednesday afternoon excursion programme, complimentary to our English courses.
